I was lucky enough to make senior portraits for my amazing niece when she was visiting for Thanksgiving.... an athlete, singer, performer and all around amazing soul.
What a special time to capture these teens as they head off to a new chapter and really become adults living on their own. I think back often (maybe way to often haaa) about what a fun and exciting adventure college was. I was lucky enough to have one of the best college experiences one could ask for. I am hoping this for my sweet niece and all those embarking on this adventure, too!
I am so lucky to call this family, family. I am eternally grateful they came into our family and the special bond we have created is so important to me. They are sweet, loving, caring, kind, unselfish.... and F U N... and we talk until our eyelids droop and then pick up the next day just where we stopped.
Fixated on this....
Thank you for bringing me into your homes and hearts this year and trusting me to capture your special moments. This was an extraordinary year and I can't wait for all 2 0 1 7 will bring.
As 2 0 1 6 comes to a close, I am reflecting on how grateful I am for another year of working with amazing clients, both new and returning. I am so grateful and enthused by the growth of the business year after year; and I am launching into 2 0 1 7 with the goal to bring you quicker turnaround times, more products, additional availability, and of course, new creative ideas and the same passion I bring to every session.
I was fortunate this year to do more at-home sessions - - I really fell in love with coming into you homes. If you have not yet embarked on an at-home session, I would really encourage you to think about it. They are special and intimate. I have found a passion in newborn photography and look forward to expanding these types of sessions this coming year. I loved working with teenagers this year! Very different than toddlers, and I enjoy the differing dynamic the two types of sessions bring. I also have enjoyed doing some more editorial work this year, working with CPC Childswear, a classic children's clothing line out of Rowayton, CT. Finally, this was the year I rebranded, Claire Harvey Photography, and I am so excited to have a logo that I feel more accurately reflects my business and style.
As a thank you for your continued support, I am offering 20% off albums ordered during the month of January. See my updated album page for information including an order form which should simplify the ordering process: http://www.claireharveyphotography.com/albums-coffee-table-books-1
Thank you for your trust in me and I cannot tell you how excited I am to be heading into 2 0 1 7 with a great deal of momentum and creative ambition.
wind blown hair in face
water that sparkles like diamonds....
oh, and this family that I hold so dear and is so very special to me.
THIS is a love story....
This has been my busiest summer yet which means I have been.... sweating.... A lot.....I am so grateful for the work I have been given this summer which included awesome travel and new clients.
One thing that has stood out during the summer months and the travel - Love and support. I felt so surrounded by love and support this summer as I was joyfully hoping from place to place. I feel so fortunate. And I am so grateful.
Now I feel ready to take on the Fall! (More summer photos to be posted though :)))))
Guys, this session just sent me over the edge..... Wait no, I mean, over the moon! This light and color tones are totally ideal and I had so much fun working with this beautiful family. There is so much good here.
Summer evening light illuminates angels and paints cheeks pink. I love it
I was reading a write up by black and white photographer, Jason Peterson and was totally inspired. I love what he said about black and white photography,
"black and white photography erases time from the equation"
We love playing outside. All the time. We would rather be outside than inside.
On these sweet summer nights we are often playing outside and all of a sudden the light is so magnificent that I have to run and get my camera.
I am currently booking more sessions on Cape Cod and Nantucket August 5 -8. Please be in touch to book a spot!
No better place to be…..
….look forward to seeing you there...
PS it is great to get your session in while you are relaxed and tan…..and before the rush of Fall.
Celebrating our daddy who we love so much on the beach.
I don't take the luxury to work on personal projects as much as I should. (I am calling it a luxury but it really should be a necessity as it is important in aiding ones creative and personal growth). One thing on my list to explore has been freelensing. It is where you essentially shoot with the lens off your camera.
Being totally inspired by this evenings light I got out my camera and gave it a shot (haha…no pun intended). O M G. I am hooked!
It gives you the ability to get macro images but also the ability to capture movement in a really cool way. And the light! omg the sparkling light.
This is just from around our yard. Can't wait to do more!
They throw us in the air….they tickle us till we can't laugh anymore….they teach us to walk, to kick a ball….they read to us…. they support us as we grow….they are often the ones who are the most resistant to photo shoot. H A H A (couldn't help it)…..yet they produce the most awe inspiring photos bc they hold the key to so much joy and love. A N D in the end are so happy with the photos they are forever keepsakes of their family they are so proud of….
…..What better gift this Father's Day than a photo shoot!
